Sweet Success With Sweet Treats Tour

It all began on Saturday December 8th, 2012 when the Eureka Trolley stopped in front of Red Bud Manor Inn to let off a Sweet Treats Tour participant at our front door. We gifted the Trolley driver with our Premiere Champagne Cake Balls ( which he loved!) and enthusiastically shared our hot apple cider brewing at the front door. Moments later, a steady stream of visitors were ushered into Red Bud Manor Inn for a Unique Live Tour of the B&B, Champagne Balls,  Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark Cookies, Hot Apple Cider, Raspberry Champagne Tea and Heartfelt Conversation that will always be remembered on this glorious day at Red Bud Manor. Thanks to everyone who visited Red Bud Manor and we will always have the Bubbly Tea awaiting your future arrival.
Happy Holidays To All!  Love, Catherine and Michelle

Happy Thanksgiving to All

I want to wish all "Happy Thanksgiving".  I have many things in my life to be thankful for. First, my husband Paul, who is my hero, and my daughter Sachia, who is very whole hearted. And together as a family, we love Red Bud Manor.  We love our life and what Red Bud has made us.  Much closer and knowing that as a family, we can play and work together in harmony.
Today was the perfect example. We offered Thanksgiving dinner to all of our guests today and it was so much fun. We all shared stories at the table and the strangers became friends. How beautiful that we can bring people together and eat in harmony. It gets better and better at Red Bud Manor.
So, how wonderful my life is because of the people I love and all the people I meet through our inn!!

Busting 10 Bed And Breakfast Myths

Thinking about sneaking in a spontaneous getaway to somewhere special? Were you considering a bed and breakfast, but dismissed the idea because you weren't sure what to expect or afraid you might not like it? Well, leave your preconceived notions at the door.
While there are plenty of myths about B&Bs floating around, here are 10 worth busting:
Myth #1: Breakfast is only served during a certain time period and with other guests.
While most B&Bs have designated breakfast hours (innkeepers pride themselves on mouthwatering, often cooked-to-order, breakfasts), exceptions usually can be made with advance notice if you like to sleep in or rise early. And, no worries if your getaway is a romantic rendezvous; you and your sweetheart still can enjoy a cozy breakfast for two in any number of restaurant-style dining rooms. Here's an even better idea: Stay in bed and have breakfast brought to you at B&Bs such as the Inn on Summer Hill & Spa located in Summerland, CA.
Myth #2: B&Bs are second-rate and cheap.
On the contrary, B&Bs offer an incredible value with top-notch touches often only found at the most expensive hotels such as fine china, fresh flowers, luxurious linens and complimentary snacks (so forget about mini-bar charges). They also provide ways to pad your wallet including free Wi-Fi, bottomless cookie jars, complimentary parking and, of course, breakfast included in your rate!
Myth #3: All bathrooms are shared.
According to PAII, the Professional Association of Innkeepers International, 94% of all B&Bs have private, en suite bathrooms.
Myth #4: Privacy is limited.
Innkeepers are hospitality experts and they are there to assist. But, it's your getaway, so once you're settled in you can have as much, or as little, interaction as you would like. Most inns also offer plenty of common space where you can find your own hideaway or enjoy the company of others.
Myth #5: The breakfasts are fattening and unhealthy.
Breakfasts are the cornerstone of a B&B, and innkeepers take pride in their creations. From low-fat or low-carb options to dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, they can create a special dish using one of their healthy recipes just for you (with advance notice, of course).
Myth #6: B&Bs are only for older people.
Yes, the older set are frequent guests at B&Bs. But, younger travelers, lured by the uniqueness, personal touch and value, have found B&Bs to be a smart alternative to the big-box, cookie-cutter hotels who nickel and dime their guests with fees.
Myth #7: B&Bs are cluttered with chotchkies, antiques and doilies.
Some B&Bs fit this bill... but not all. With minimal searching, you can find inns with spacious, modern rooms clear of clutter and offering amenities such as docking stations, king-sized beds and flat-screen, high-definition TVs.
Myth #8: B&Bs don't cater to business travelers.
While mainly thought of as a vacation-only destination, B&Bs have added amenities to accommodate the business traveler including in-room desks, business centers with copiers and fax machines, guest rooms with numerous outlets, free Wi-Fi, parcel delivery and pick-up services and business specials for midweek, last-minute and extended stays. And, you won't have to spend on breakfast, snacks and, in many cases, bottled water -- a real cost cutter.
Myth #9: Only breakfast is served.
Breakfast may be in the name, but there's more to a B&B than the morning meal. Dinners are on the menu at some inns with a minimum night stay or à la carte. If you're looking to plan a romantic retreat, inns such as the Veranda House located in Nantucket, MA, will prepare a gourmet picnic basket and help you pick out a secluded spot to spend the day.
Myth #10: B&Bs are just a room. How boring.
Step outside of your room, past the cozy deck and glorious gardens found at many inns, and you'll find a list of great outdoor activities at the inn or around the area to fill up any getaway including scenic cruises along the coast, food and wine tasting tours, nature hikes and more. Think of the innkeeper as a concierge. Not only will they point out the hot spots in town but also the hidden gems only a native would know.
Next time you're considering a B&B getaway, keep this list in mind. And, remember: Myths are meant to be busted.

Wedding Weekend

What an incredible week at Red Bud Manor Inn. We had 2 weddings last week.  And more are on horizon.  Our first wedding was a beautiful renewal for 2 of 31 years. A beautiful cake and champagne and a toast for love.  They ended their romantic journey with a carriage ride at night with flashlights.
Our 2nd marriage was huge... 30 attendees and all had a great time.  The bride was stunning in her white satin wedding dress and the groom was dressed in white with peach accent.  The arbor was decorated in peach and white roses and the bouquet adorned in white roses. What a wonderful time for the celebration of such a incredible couple.
This is why I love this. Love is still going strong at Red Bud Manor and I am honored to play a part in the joining of their life long journey.

What an incredible weekend we had at Red Bud Manor.  All our guest were so much fun.  We had 2 weddings this weekend (same day) and lots of new guests, as a first time experience to a bed and breakfast.  The porch was filled with guests drinking our famous champagne raspberry ice tea with David's lavender scones. The weather was beautiful and the birds sang all day.
The experience that you have at Red Bud Manor is always out of the ordinary.  We always want to make your stay with us, life long memories.

We also upgraded the sinks and fixtures in all restrooms.  It is absolutely beautiful. We spared no expense to pamper our guests with the best.  Along with new egyptian sheets and towels, you will love the design of your room and feel the comforts that surround you. Thank you Eureka Springs and David

I wanted to say how much I love Red Bed Manor and how much I appreciate David Washum. He is the innkeeper at Red Bud Manor Inn and is doing such a beautiful job keeping the food incredible and the guests happy. If you haven't met David, you are in for a treat. He is such a sweet soul and is eager to make your stay perfect. I am so fortunate to know David as well as to call him my friend. This is such a endeavor that has come together in harmony. The energy at Red Bud Manor is unlike anything you will experience. Lots of positive vibes and healthy food keeps us in tune with our inner conscience. It keeps getting better and better. Thank you David for all you do!!!

Red Bud Manor has a New Owner!

I found a slice of paradise tucked into the hills of Eureka Springs. I had looked at what seemed like an endless number of bed and breakfasts, from Asheville to Napa, before I stumbled upon the Red Bud Manor Inn. Crossing the threshold felt right in a way I had not believed could exist.

My name is Catherine Pappas, and I have dreamed of the day when I could own my very own little bed and breakfast. A native New Yorker, I fled the City of Dreams to pursue a slower (at least I thought) life  in Houston, Texas. Years later, I am proud to say I’ve devoted my life to the elderly, and have been a better person for it. However, the dream of becoming an innkeeper has finally come to fruition, and color me excited, I can’t wait to dive in headfirst!

I look forward to adding my personal touch to the Red Bud Manor Inn, but still keeping with the traditions set forth by its previous owner, Deb. One aspect of Eureka Springs I adore is the eco-consciousness. I strive to be as carbon neutral as I can, and look forward to exploring new ways to add on to what Deb has already created.

Stay tuned for the updates I have in store for the Red Bud Manor. I promise you won’t be disappointed. I’m redesigning a few things, with luxury in mind, in order to create the ultimate relaxing getaway for you and your loved ones.
